As a VA Volunteer at the front desk, it was an honor to get to know John over the years. He was always pleasant and I enjoyed our many conversations. My sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one and one of our heroes. I'm sure he is soaring in heaven with his newly earned wings.

I remember Mr. Mahler as a customer at Mellon Bank at the Lyndora office on Hansen Ave. We had many conversations on a wide variety of subjects. Always was a pleasure to see him. He made me one of his woodworking projects. And I use it to this very day. Such a gentle soul. My condolences to all his family. How wonderful you had him all these years. May he Rest In Peace.

I knew John from First Methodist Church. He came to my Veterans treatment Court and provided encouraging words to our participants. We throw the word hero around these days but John and those of his generation that volunteered to fight are the true heroes. My sympathies to his family.
