John "Yush" Malachowski, 90, of Jeannette, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 2, 2015. The world lost a good man. He was born June 9, 1924, in Jeannette, a son of the late John and Nellie Barr Malachowski. Prior to his retirement, John was employed as a tool and die machinist for the Fisher Body Company for 35 years. He was a lifelong resident of Jeannette and a lifetime member of the Sacred Heart Church Jeannette and the church's Holy Name Society. John was a proud veteran of World War II, having served with the Navy. He was member of the Manor American Legion and the local VFW. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Dorothy Ritson Malachowski; his oldest daughter, Nancy Capozzi; and a sister, Mary Knechtel. He is survived by his children, Sandra Craig and husband, Marty, of Westview, Ky., Laurie Malachowski, of Elizabethtown, and Grady Malachowski and wife, Kim, of Akron, Ohio; a son-in-law, John Capozzi, of Jeannette; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. Second St., Jeannette. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Sacred Heart Church. Interment with military honors accorded by the Jeannette Combined Veterans will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
