John was a longtime friend and member of a group of men (or perhaps boys then) who were all trying to get through college with the help of part-time employment at the St. Louis Public Library downtown. This group has been getting together for at least 50 years once a month. John was missing for 3 years in the 60´s while serving for 3 years on active duty with the United States Marine Corps including time in Vietnam. We missed him then and we are missing him now.
