John V. Mangia, 81 of Forks Township, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Sunday, January 11, 2026, at his residence. He was the husband of Joan V. (LaMarca) Mangia, together they celebrated 58 years of marriage, June 17, 2025.


Born in Brooklyn, NY, May 3, 1944, he was the son of the late Alfred and Anna (Ratolo) Mangia.


Prior to retiring, John was employed as a Conductor for the New York Transit Authority.


He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Roseto.


John was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved the beach and watching his family enjoying life. He also loved being around the table eating good food and listening to funny stories.


In addition to his wife, Joan, he is survived by two daughters, Ann Marie Martinez and her husband Armando of Bath, and Jean Ann Vanic and her husband Keith of Plainfield Township, six grandchildren, Giovanna, Isabella, and Giancarlo Martinez, and John-Anthony, Luke and Sofia Vanic, and a brothers, Vincent J. Mangia of Rockaway Township, NJ.


He was preceded in death by a sister Louise Tasca.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 11 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 3rd and Garibaldi Avenues, Roseto. There will be viewing hours only, Wednesday, January 14, 2026, beginning at 2 PM until 4 PM and 6 PM until 8 PM at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl, PA. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel New Catholic Cemetery, Roseto.
