Not sure what to say?

My angel bride and I had the honor of hearing John over the years. Starting in 1980 I became a Maverick regular. I met my angel bride in 1989 and we started going there. John had become a legend there and along with Ted Hockenberry and John Chastain, we could not stay away. Brenda also went there as a Dance instructor for awhile. I never will get rid of a couple 45s I still have of John.

For so many years I saw John play at the Maverick. I am lucky to have a couple 45s of his and couple vinyl records he appeared on. My angel bride and I saw him along with other greats for years. She is gone since 2014. Thank you John E Mann for your music!

Sorry to hear of Johnny passing away- he was a larger than life character. Johnny used to come into the feed store my in laws owned at the time and buy feed and tell colorful stories-he also boarded my then father in laws horse. Also saw him perform at the Maverick-Nice man and may he Rest In Peace-

I spent every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night at the old Maverick in the early 80s listening to Garry Rust and the Country Kings. One of those Kings was John E. Mann. John's voice was one of the very best. Not only did he have a great voice, but he was genuinely nice and very funny. I can't tell you how many times he made the band laugh so hard on stage that they couldn't sing! I will always cherish these special memories. It's so hard for me to believe that this gentle giant is no...

When Johnny lived on Twin Hills, we bought the adjoining property to the north. He sold our first horse to us for our daughter. In 1986 I moved to Greer. Much to my surprise, there was John at the Greer Mountain Resort right across 373 where I was living with my children. Crazy coincidence. He was talented and kind. I have thought of him often and so very sorry to see that he passed. Our deepest sympathy to his family. May he rest in peace.

First in 1980 I heard John play both with Gary Rust and his band at the Maverick. My angel bride Brenda and I saw him many many times until we moved to Pinetop/Lakeside in 2001. My bride passed in 2014 and I moved back to Tucson. Never saw him up in the White Mountains where I lived for 14 years but I know he frequented visits up there. So sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Duane Gibson. As of this week, Vail, AZ.
