Not sure what to say?

Please accept my condolences for the man who I held as one of my greatest influences in my life. With a single phrase or sentence he was able to open my mind to new challenges which would echo in my mind for years.

I graduated from PUC in 1982 and while defending my doctorate in 2007, thoughts of him help forward me to completion.

To his family I will say that he was always held in the highest esteem. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Please accept my belated condolences. John was a dear colleague and a gifted professor. He was caring, hard working, talented, but also enigmatic. I think he enjoyed having a touch of mystery surround him. Tons of "stuff" also surrounded him: Boxes and boxes of card decks, stacks of books and manuals, and filing cabinets crammed with papers---that's how I'll always remember his office. How did he ever find anything? But he always knew where to put his hand on what he needed and you could...

My earliest memory of the sound was in August of 1956. I was 14 and my brother was home from Purdue for the summer break. At dawn we were both awakened by a loud explosion, John jumped up first and looking out the window he let out that cackle of an insane laugh that only he had and said as he kept laughing "Standard Oil Blew UP'. We then double rode my bike all the way to Whiting and took some great pictures the whole day.
I will forever miss my brother with his crazy humor and the...

I attended the visitation in my cap and gown. Having just graduated that day, with a Master's degree, I wanted to show my thanks to Dr. Maniotes and his family. I was so glad to see how thankful the family was to my gesture of thanks and appreciation. I told them that the Maniotes Foundation paid from my senior undergraduate year. Dr. Maniotes (Doc) touched my life in so many ways. He was my senior-project course professor which was my BEST and WORST undergraduate experience. He was a...

Dr Maniotes was generous with his time and the collection of important artifacts that he donated to the Computer History Museum. The items he donated were particularly helpful to those of us on the IBM 1620 Restoration Team. We will forever be grateful for his enthusiasm and participation with us in this project. I wish John's family my condolences and may you experience God's caring and presence.

I only had limit interaction with Doc as an advisor with or Fraternity with Sam in the early 90's. He was great to work with. He will be missed and my thoughts and prayers are with your family.

To the John Maniotes Family:
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I knew John for many years from the Harbor, even though I haden't seen him since we worked on a combined WHS reunion. I think it was his 35th--my 36th. Always a good, gentle person and always with a friendly word and smile. I am sure he will be missed by all.

I have fond memories of 'Doc' from days at Meade Elec. (Electro Data). 'Doc' was always willing to help others. May God bless him and his family.

Sam and the Maniotes Family:
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. My prayers and thoughts go out to all of you during this difficult time.
