Not sure what to say?

Learning of John's death has brought on a flood of wonderful memories of the time spent with him in the fall of '73 in South Africa and Botswana. My sincere condolences to his family.

I remember John from the days when we were classmates at Shady Hill School and Belmont High School. He was always a creative and dedicated individual. Who knew then that he would make a name for himself as a world class filmmaker? His anthropological work will stand as a fitting memorial to his lifetime achievement, but he will also be missed as a friend.

Deepest condolences and sincere sympathy from Raul de Brigard Herrera, his wife Emilie Rahman de Brigard, their son George de Brigard Rahman. The world of film has lost a brave explorer; the world has lost a kind and good soul. May he rest in peace.
