Not sure what to say?

I knew John from the IGG club. I also volunteered and typed many lists to his data bases for the IGG club. He was a comedian, hard worker and devouted ember to bring more information for genealogists. He will be remembered for his dedication and hard work, as well as his sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.

John was a always a guiding light for us at the IGG.
That light spread to other organizations and institutions. His ability to get the message out and get people motivated was inspirational. He contributed his time and energy freely and he will forever be remembered with fondness by myself and others who worked beside him.

Like many in the genealogy community, I only knew John from his hard work in ItalianGen, but I could feel his heart in it. I'm extremely grateful for what he and the entire team of dedicated volunteers have done to transcribe and index so many NYC records. From my family to yours, you have our prayers for solace and peace in this difficult time.

I never got to meet you John but appreciate so much all you did to make NY genealogy records accessible and free. May you rest in peace and we will try to carry on without you.

I am sorry to hear the loss of John Martino. His dedication to genealogy is truly appreciated. John Martino and his devotion to the IGG will always be remembered.

Dearest John,
Your smile and wit will be missed. I always enjoyed sitting next to you at the OCH meetings! We would laugh, you would give me useful, intelligent information on anything I asked you about. So kind. So interesting. Such a caring man. Rest in peace, friend.
