Jack was my first pottery teacher at the Jones Library studio in Amherst. He changed the direction my life. During the three years that I lived in Western Massachussets he showed me that it was possible to have an integrated life with art making at its center. I visited him often while he worked in his studio and then we would go walk his beloved land. Jack was our first friend in the hill towns when we started renting avacation home in 1977. We met him and his 3 children swimming in Chapel Falls and Bari discoveredthat Jack and she were both born in the Royal Hospital in the Bronx, NY.
