Not sure what to say?

The JP I knew, loved, and will miss was fun loving, kind, and generous. He owned a wonderful laugh, and was always ready to try new games. The world is a less interesting place, a less fun place, and a less joyful place without him. All my best to John, Ian, and the rest of his family that miss him.

My dear cousin,

A few of my favorite memories:

-My mom ordering a whole extra pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving, since she knew you loved it so much (& could eat a whole one!)
-Getting trounced when you and Ian got a new video game for Christmas (I never could beat you two!)
-Telling you that the Muppets were on, when you were too little to know better, just to watch you run to the TV (sorry!)
-Proudly watching you run at a Cross Country meet at...

My deepest condolences go out to John's family and friends. I knew him as a fellow runner at RMHS and always enjoyed his quirky perspective on life and sense of humor. I hope all of you can find comfort in your memories of him.

I am so sorry to hear of John's death. His mother Jeannie was a good friend of mine and John was a good friend of my son's. I'll always remember watching John run his races so well. He was an excellent and dedicated runner. Jeannie and I had many enjoyable moments watching our sons race in the Rolling Meadows Track and Cross-country races. Our friendships ended all too quickly with their deaths. They are missed.

Like you I am heart broken to know that JP Mathieson no longer walks among us. I know your pain is so much greater because you have lost your son, your brother, your nephew, your cousin. It was too soon for John to leave. All of us are deprived of his potential; the world is less because of this loss. I hope you have good memories of times you shared with John. I hope you will be comforted by the fact that John had been part of your family and part of your past. I hope he is at peace. My...

Dear John, Linda, Ian, Kristin, and
Justin,

Somewhere on our back porch, where we keepall photos not in frames, we have a lot of happy 2000 memories of our last, larger Arlington Heights, family occasion: We got together, the eight of us who could, for Glenna's homecoming together with her then 2=yearhusband, Sean Smith, at "Uncle Don's" Evanston,Il. duplex/2-flat [which he's holding on to and getting income from now,for a year and a half, and counting, while working in...

I am very saddened by JP's untimely passing. In my mind, I will always remember him as a bright eyed and alert child and young adult with much energy. I also remember him as a dedicated and disciplined runner in high school who did well.He will be greatly missed by us all. I hope he has found the peace that he richly deserved.

My condolences go out to John's family and friends. John and I went to Elementary, Jr High, and High School together. I'm not sure if he would even remember me, but I remember him.
The strongest memory I have of him was from 3rd grade when our class was assigned an essay explaining how we saw ourselves over the next 15 years. I remember vividly, John standing up in front of the class saying he wanted to get his Bachelor's degree. At 9, I didn't know what that was and all I could think...
