Not sure what to say?

Natalie and Nicole, I worked with your father John 1974-1983 at DSCC. He was one of senior, experience auditors along with Tom Griskat when I was hired fresh out of college. The first year we were all kind of afraid of John, but after you proved your competence he was great to work with. I remember the great wall of John when he tried to control the creek in back of your house, and was impressed with his wood working skills. He was a man of many talents. Sorry I missed the funeral I just...

John was a mentor and friend to our son, Stephen. There was a 50 year age difference but you wouldn't know that to listen to them chatting away about farming and IH tractors. John was generous with his time and knowledge; very kind-hearted. He shared the afternoon with us last summer following Pelotonia and brought a beautiful bouquet of flowers but didn't want us to know they were from him. He will be greatly missed. Sending our deepest sympathy to you Nicole and Natalie.

Forever young – that's how I think of John May. I worked for him at DSCC as a manager. He always had a mischievous grin for me. I seem to remember a coffee cup that he had that said something like “I'll never grow up”. That's the way that I'll always remember him. He liked to tease me about the car I drove. Whenever it broke down he'd tell me that I should have bought American! Most of the time he was truly full of fun! I liked him and I think that he liked me. I am so saddened to...

Natalie and Nicole, Your father spoke of you often. On occasion I had to contact him at home, and your mother was one of the sweetest persons I ever talked with. I saw her at a retirement party....she was so beautiful. Smile, they are finally happy together forever.

Natalie and Nicole, Heaven and your mom must really be rejoicing as your dad has arrived. May your lives always be enriched because you carry such a special DNA legacy and such cherished memories. Everyone in the West High School Class of 1961 thought so highly of your parents. May your entire family treasure every influence they provided you and may you look forward to seeing them again in the fullness of time.

I will never forget Mr. May coming around the corner near my mom's office where my sister and I would sit on occasion as small children. Before he could get there, my little sister would always hear him coming, turn the corner and run up to him. John would get down on one knee and scoop her up to give her a hug and ask, "How's my girl?" Then it was always my turn as John would squeeze the absolute hell out of my neck with those farmer's hands and ask, "You being good? Not giving your mom...

Carefree bubble gum, M&M's and Peeps, just a few things that will forever remind me of John. He was my manager, my mentor, but most of all he was my friend. My family and I were shocked and deeply saddened to learn of John's passing, and we will miss him deeply. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Nicole and Natalie during this most difficult time.

John was my colleague and friend. I always had great respect for his knowledge and work ethic. He typically was given very challenging tasks because he was both diligent and capable. I can still hear his laugh! My heartfelt condolences to his family.

Thank you, Natalie, for sharing some of your Dad with me. He was a very special person to me, and my life was enriched with his friendship.

I love you.
