I grew up with Don in Skaneateles. He was valedictorian in one of the smartest classes to come along in the 50s & 60s. Everybody loved him. He didn´t like being 5 days younger than I am so he wouldn´t tell me when his birthday was.

Don was my good friend and favorite Mechanical Engineering classmate at Cornell University, graduating in 1965. We took many courses together and Don was always at the very top of the grading curve after our preliminary and final exams. Nevertheless, Don was always humble and kind to his classmates and fraternity brothers.
