John T. McGuire

John was truly one of the most admired "Dairy" men in my life. He is embedded in my mind and heart for his contributions to not only the industry but to life itself. With such a large and vibrant family, I have been blessed to have known him and spent time together. My condolences to all the family and Thank You John for having been here during my time.

I worked for "Papa John" at Guernsey Dairy back in the late 60s.

I, along with two friends who were all high school-aged employees of his dairy at the time - stole a case of eggs from the store just before Devil's Night. Had a heck of a time driving through Northville, Novi and Plymouth egging cars. The next day the police showed up holding empty egg cartons from Guernsey Dairy... I had the special honor of caring for John when he was a patient in an area hospital a few years ago. John was an inspiring man, and a wonderful human being. I attended his 100th birthday party and what fun that was. My condolences to his family, I know he will be missed. But now he is reunited with the love of his life.
