John "Jack" McIlvenna

John "Jack" McIlvenna, age 94, died July 30th, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Village.

Jack was adopted by John and Theresa (Maher) McIlvenna at 3 weeks of age. He was raised on a farm near Alcester, SD later moving to a farm near Sioux Falls, SD. Jack was a business agent for the Teamsters Union.

Jack is survived by daughters, Linda (Gale) Berven, Sioux Falls, SD, Mary (Mike) Messerli, Arizona; step children, Diane Rebnord, Mark and Tim Baker and daughter-in-law, Kathryn "Kathy" Baker; ten grandchildren; ten step grandchildren; several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; sisters, Sister Loretta McIlvenna OP, Benton, WI, Marie (Gene) Nash, Sioux Falls, SD.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Micky; parents; sons, Vincent, Brad, Brent McIlvenna; step son, Dennis Baker; brothers, Pat and Al McIlvenna; sisters, Mary Joan Jenkins, Margaret Jones and Carmel Gaspar.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Cancer Foundation or Children's Hospital.

Mass of Burial will be held 11:30 am Friday, August 4, 2017 at St. Michael Catholic Church. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00pm Thursday, August 3, 2017 with a liturgical wake service at St. Michael Catholic Church.
