Not sure what to say?

Father taught me in an literature class at Fairfield and married us in 69. We lost track of John after many years of wonderful Christmas letters. I am now a retired medical oncologist. I would love to chat with any of his family to express condolences and hear about his final years. Daniel M Hayes MD 207 415 6673 or [email protected]

To the McIntyre family I would like to tell you about a wonderful teacher I had as a young man at BC High in the early 1980's. He was so very strict, and yet, it was the greatest introduction to real life I've ever had. He set and maintained a high standard of academic performance. It was also the standard that I came to use and expect in my own life.

In the classroom he would use wit and beautifully turned phrases to guide us. At home, I would imitate his mannerisms and sayings,...

The McIntyre family would like to thank all who shared in the sadness and the splendid services. Unfortunately, John's address book was shredded because of confidential information, and I rely on Google for addresses.
But so many Irish up there with the same names! I find too many in several cases, so cannot send a note. You should be colonizing Florida.
Again, thanks and hopes for blessings for you all. Eileen McIntyre Setton

one of my favorite bch teachers and certainly the toughest grader (a C was like an A in his class!!) with a great dry wit and an intellect second to none. Ad Majorem Dei Glorium!!

To Friends and Family of McGinty:

I met John when I was a sophomore pre-med student at Fairfield University (Class of 1975). John taught me Freshmen Composition and Prose. I had been warned to stay away because he was a hard grader- lots of students dropped out of his class. That course and McGinty's instruction changed my Life and set me on a steady path of academic achievement and a personal relationship with a Jesuit priest who exemplified what a true teacher should be. We remained...

Dear Father McIntyre~~~

Words cannot ever begin to describe how much positive energy, academic encouragement and stories helped me throughout my entire life.
Refrlecting back upon my years at Fairfield as the first woman graduate and then having you and Sister Claire as my mentors for years was a blessing from God.

The impact that you made on me was not only very personal but universal~~You are certainly a true teacher God's teacher and loving and humous human being....

O Most Gentle Heart of Jesus, ever present in the Blessed Sacrament, ever consumed with burning love for the poor captive souls in Purgatory, have mercy on the soul of Thy departed servant. Be not severe in Thy judgment but let some drops of Thy Precious Blood fall upon the devouring flames. And do Thou, O Merciful Savior, send Thy Holy Angels to conduct Thy departed servant to a place of refreshment, light and peace. Amen.
