Not sure what to say?

John was one of those guys in the neighborhood that you never forgot. I cannot think of a time where I saw him without a black leather jacket on; it was his signature. Then one day, my uncle Bernie Mattes was dating his sister. Years later came Bernie Jr.

But during that time we met as family and learned and grew to know more about his parents (Ruth & John) and wife Rita. What wonderful people.

My condolences to Rita and my Aunt Donna

Where to even start? John you were so much more than a cousin or Godfather. I'm not sure you ever realized how important you actually were to me. You were a joy to be around. Knowing that you were proud of me, made me feel special and I will always feel that. Thank you for being one of the most important men in my life. Love you!
