Not sure what to say?

So Sudden, To Hear and Feel the Loss and Emptiness So Starkly! It seemed like John had always been with us and guided us for years! I remember you John with love, respect and appreciation for all your Guidance, Leadership, Support, & Contributions as the "Father of M-222+ in Modern Times" Don Milligan, our M222 Banner is at Half Mast for you, John!

Don Milligan of the Amuliganes.

John was an administrator for our yDNA project at Family Tree DNA and John was also moderator of the M222+ Mail List at RootsWeb.com. Hundreds of our DNA and Genetic Genealogy folks will have learned today of John's death and I know they will join me in expressing our sincere condolences to John's family and friends. We all had the greatest respect and admiration for John and will miss him very much.

Dear Pat, Jenna and family,
Tom Simon got the word of John's death got out to our high school class at SLUH, but too late for me to make the wake. I saw Bob Johnson, who was able to make it, and I'm sorry I missed it. Know that my prayers are with you and the whole family.

Early morning of the Monday afterward, I drove by the entrance to Powder Mill on the Current and remembered my first float trip with you, Jim, Bob, Buddy, and the rest. Fun-filled times....got me hooked on float trips! Then later that day, I learned of your passing. We'll all miss ya John, you were a good man. Following Patrick's lead, I will tip an Irish one tonight in your honor. All my best to the McLaughlin family.

John, I will think of you when I play guitar, you inspired to learn! Many fun memories of singing around the camp fire on the Current River! Your Van Liew cousin,
Caroline

Cousin, I have wonderful memories of you at family gatherings in St. Louis and at the lake. I hope all of our hearts are filled with gratitude for having known you.

Oldest brother, you will be missed. I will always remember your sharp wit, but also your kind heart. Some of my fondest memories growing up are listening to you play your guitar and singing folk music, bluegrass and Irish drinking songs. Also, hiking with you in various woods and you driving me around in your classic car and getting chocolate sodas at the quick shop. I also remember you and brother Jim breaking me out of Kindergarten to see my first Cardinal game, sitting in the bleachers....
