Johnny played basketball at St. Pat's my Dad Tom Murphy coached John was assistant coach taking over when Dad retired.

My dad coached John in basketball in the early days, St. Pat´s/CYO always said he was a talented basketball player. RIP, my condolences to his family. JoAnn Murphy Gastiaburo

Please accept my condolences on your loss. John was a major part of my childhood--we played softball and baseball and football in the Richmondtown--oakwood-lighthouse area until our early 20s. i have recently gotten video digitized of some football games , along w photos, played at the ye olde dutchmans- from 1966 [john is 62 w the ball in the photo] --i can make a copy available to the family.
