Bizub Quinlan Funeral Home - Van Houten Obituary

John Samuel McPhee September 15, 1955 – November 6, 2016 John McPhee of Clifton, New Jersey passed away suddenly at the age of 61. The son of loving parents Samuel and Madeline McPhee, John moved with his family at age 3 from North Arlington, New Jersey to Clifton where he became a longtime resident. John is fondly remembered by friends and family for his passion for Westerns and Cooking shows, enjoyment of pick-up basketball, bowling, and spending countless summers working alongside his grandfather, Victor, on his Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania farm. As a young man, John displayed his basketball athleticism through participation in several Special Olympics. John attended Clifton public school and enjoyed his adult years under the caring supervision of The Clifton Adult Opportunity Center, where he was involved in on-going community service projects. John is survived by his brother, Bob, his sister-in-law, Gail, and his nieces, Riley and Brenna of Wilton, Connecticut. John is also survived by his sister, Evie, and nephew, Kyler, of Lewes, Delaware. He will be dearly missed by the staff and residents of his Clifton Group Home where he's lived the past 20 years. Please remember John through acts of kindness particularly helping those less fortunate. In lieu of flowers and gifts, John would appreciate donations to The Clifton Adult Opportunity Center/900 Clifton Avenue/Clifton, NJ 07013.

Not sure what to say?

Dear Rob & Evie, My fondest memories of "Johnnie" are from our childhood summer vacations in Punxsy. He was always doing something helpful around the place while the rest of us ran around playing. He was a sweet person & a dear cousin. My prayers are with all of you at this time.

Dear Rob, Gail, and Evie, Our deepest sympathy is extended to all of you on the recent passing of John. We were so saddened to hear the news. We have so many wonderful memories of your parents and him.
