John and I were fraternity brothers in College and remained friends since.

I always admired John's amazing ability to remember everyone's name at a party. Once I had John over for dinner. Before he came, I told my children that not only would John know their middle names, but he would know their birth dates. John did not fail me. He was able to recall the information even though it had been eight to ten years since their birth.

John was a good friend.

I met John at my Mother's funeral last April. He was a friend of my sister's.
I remember how kind he was and I was especially impressed that he was so supportive of my sister.
I am so sorry that he suffered so much but know that he is at peace now.

I met John in the early 70's and he was such an interesting man - never afraid to call it the way he saw it. John was a patriot and devoted to his Mother. I was a waitress at Halle's Geranium Room my last two years of school and thoroughly enjoyed seeing John and his Mom come in to dine.
John was very special.

My heartfelt sympathy to the
McWhorter family on John's death.
John was a good friend for many
years and will be greatly missed.

John was a very dear friend for many many years and will be missed greatly. God Bless all who loved him.

I met John during his stay at my place of employment, Manor Care Nursing Home. John was a very kind and very brave man. One of the nurses took me to his room to introduce him to me, because she thought he was just such a wonderful man, and thought that we could cheer him up. I many times would encounter John in the hallway while he was still mobile, and he always had a smile and a kind word no matter how he was feeling. I know that John is at peace now and free from the pain that plagued...

John was a dedicated son, friend and American and I deeply regret his passing away.
