John Russell Melia

MELIA, John Russell, born October 7, 1931, passed into the arms of our Lord on July 30, 2008. John is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia. He had eight children, 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was a veteran of the Navy, a graduate of Richmond Professional Institute of the College of William & Mary, a past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council #6189, and a retiree of Reynolds Metals after 38 years of service. John was a beloved father to his family, and a friend to all who knew him. A memorial Mass will be said at the Catholic Church of the Epiphany on Saturday at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
