RIP my friend and former NMU roommate. One of the best days with you was when we were having dinner together in the NMU dining room and I introduced Janet to you. You are both missed.

I was one of Ann Arbor´s lost youth, who by luck or fate, got a job at Mallek Service. The short years spent working at the split of Jackson and Dexter taught me everything I know about service, community and integrity. These lessons are the foundation of my character and I expect to spend the next Twenty years transmitting the same values learned while working for John.

He was always so helpful and kind. A gentle person to his customers I had a kick watching the forest increase inside his office. And everybody enjoyed his incredible baskets of flowers hanging outside. We sometimes chit chatted on driving up North. Even though several years ago I moved close to Eisenhower & S. Main, I still drove up to get my supply of gasoline at Mallek's! The service was excellent.

I HAVE KNOWN JOHN FORN OVER 20 YEARS AND CONSIDERED HIM A GOOD FRIEND. TALKED TO HIM DAYS BEFORE HE PASSED ABOUT HEART SURJURY AT ST. JOES HOSPITAL BECAUSE MY WIFE PF 60 YEARS IS GOING IN FOR HEART SURJURY SOON. HE SURE WILL BE MISSED IN THE Ann Arbor AREA BECAUSE HE SUCH A CARING INDIVIDUAL. HE WILL BE IN MY DAILY PRAYERS AND HOPE TO SEE HIM AGAIN ON THE OTHER SIDE. YOUR FRIEND WALT

John's honesty, generosity and quiet-but-kindly manner combined with his extensive automotive knowledge to make him one of the most trusted business owners in Ann Arbor. He remembered people's names and, with an economy of words, did his best for you -- always. He was someone with whom you wanted to be friends.

I considered John a good friend. He worked on our families cars for too many years to remember. I always loved talking hunting with John. He always had time for a smile and a story. He will be truly missed.

John was such a fine man. It was always a pleasure to do business with him and count him as a West Huron friend and neighbor for many years. We will never forget him.
