I met Attorney Merchant while studying for the Ct. Bar exam and working as a probation officer in the late 70's and I had the opportunity to observe and work with him later on as an Attorney. He was always well prepared and he knew his cases better than his opponents. He was a compassionate lawyer and a kind soul. I will forever remember his smile and joyful pride on the occasion of the swearing in ceremony of his daughter, Attorney Susan Merchant, as a newly admitted member of the Ct. Bar....
