Not sure what to say?

Here it is Dec 2024 and I have just heard about Bro. Merck passing. I met Bro Merck at The First Baptist of Louisville Ms. He made an everlasting impression on me, even though I only met him once I´ve told many of our encounter. Bro. Merck is the first and only preacher that I heard quote an entire chapter that he preached. There is no doubt that Bro. Merck loved God and The Word of God. It was a tremendous honor to meet him and look forward to seeing him again.

I just heard about Bro. Merck leaving this earth to be with Jesus. I am now 57 years old but Bro. Merck was my pastor as a young person at Rocky Creek. He was a part of our family at that time. My daddy was a great judge of character and could see right to the soul of a person. Bro. Merck was one of the people he LOVED AS A BROTHER!!! Bro. Merck and Mrs. Ruth would eat country dinners at our house many times. I remember having so much respect for him as a preacher and man of God. The one...

I continue to pray for your family. Krystal was the only one that we knew and she was a teen. Bro. John asked me to cook rabbit Jambalaya when I believe it was Tim coming for a visit. My we loved those two and I will continue to pray for you. Peace and comfort. Linda Bauer

Bro. John was our dear friend and brother in Jesus. We were preaching in Belize on the mission field when his memorial service was held. I first knew Bro. John when he was pastor of fdirst Baptist Church Stonewall Mississippi. Praise the Lord. On day we will see Bro. John and Mrs. Ruth again.

I have to tell you a story about your dad that happened probably 30 years ago, but one that is still as clear as if it happened yesterday.

It was a Sunday morning at Shiloh. Everything seemed fine... The music part was finished. Your dad got up to preach but before he did, he stopped. He told the entire congregation that things had not gone too smoothly at the house that morning before church. He said "Before I can preach I need to ask Ruth to forgive me". Your mom came down...

So sorry for the passing of your dad. He was a great person. I remember when i was baptized by him a Shiloh right after we got back from a retreat we had all gone to back in 75.

Bro.John was a great man .. he was my preacher for 2 or 3 years at FBCHelena and he was a straight forward man & i love & miss him dearly .. he was great preacher.. i miss his stroies & one thing i will never forget it his him saying "when i die it's gonna take them 30 minutes to close mty ,outh because i will be still preaching the bible when i die.. because i wanna be alive when my lord comes back i also wanna kick the devil right in his chest" and he also always said "before i was saved i...

Words are not adequate for the impact that both of your parents made for so many people. They were truly loved. I was saved while your dad was at Shiloh, and we named our son after Bro. John. Your family is in my prayers. May God bring comfort to each of you as only He can do.

My late husband and I loved Bro. John and Ms Ruth. My heart is sad at your loss. Everyones loss. My husband loved to hunt with him. Words of comfort fail me, however, pray the Holy Spirit will confort each of you as only He can. Linda Bauer Baton Rouge, La.
