So sorry for your loss, but wanted to share a "West Side" memory. On a winter day in late 1960s, my VW Beetle was stuck in snow at gas station on Niagara and Virginia. Two of the Merlino bros in family truck got me unstuck! Regret I never crossed paths w/Col Merlino while I also served in USAR 98th Div. Gone, but still remembered with a last salute.

To the Merlino Family, So sorry for the passing of John. The Merlino boys were boyhood friends from Busti Avenue. I would watch them make cheese in the garage in the alley behind the house. Rest in Peace!! My friend.
