Julia and Krystopa family,

I just found out today about Johnny. I am so sorry, I would never have missed his funeral. I was the first "kid" from the neighborhood to welcome him to America. My mother, Stella Dzielak, spent countless hours with Congressman John B. Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Michniewicz to secure Johnny's admission into the United States. John Michniewicz was a “Little Poland” of Rockford true patriot and his example of genuine kindness to all is to be emulated in our lives. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. Z naszego najglebszego wspolczucia (With our deepest sympathy), Arnie, Irene, Pawel Korona, Stefanie, and Alicia Dyer and family friends

The Polish community around St.Stanislaus has lost a wonderful, gentle and kind soul. We grieve with you for the loss of John, though we know he will be in heaven waiting for us when we are called. God bless, you are...

We took swimming lessons together at the YMCA. That was a blast! I gave John a 45 of Chubby Checker singing "Limbo Rock". He must have listened to that literally thousands of times. I would come over and there he was playing it again! He also loved the old John Weismuller Tarzan movies that would play every Saturday morning. "Limbo Rock"...
