Dr. Milon was my graduate advisor at UNR in the early 1990s. I was just going through my papers when I wondered where he might be. I am saddened to read that he is no longer with us. He was a creative teacher and I will forever be grateful for his wisdom and gentle manner. Simone

I knew Jack in Majuro, Marshall Islands when I was a Peace Corps Volunteer. He was so kind and funny and helpful, and it seems he got even more interesting as he aged. I so regret not having found him while he was still living, but I hope to get in touch with his daughters. --Vicki Persinger (now Victoria Lee).

I was sad to read that Jack Milon had passed away, but the photo in the obituary and the memories I have of him made me smile. Our paths crossed at UNR, WCSD, English as a Second Language programs, and at various local and state organizations and committees we both attended. In addition, Jack and I had great discussions about language policies, teaching, politics, adventures in Botswana and Alaska, and just about any other topic.
