Dr. John Edward Mitchell

I just came across this obituary and it hurt my heart. I used to work with Dr Mitchell in Dothan AL. He was always fun to work with-always brought a little laughter to the work day. After he left our employment and moved I lost touch with him. Prayers to his family-he made a difference to a lot of lives.

John and I were at Berry High School together. We both played in the band and shared a number of classes. My favorite memory is of doing a science project together, maybe in the 10th grade, analysing the pollution in Village Creek. I remember climbing through scrubby underbrush and sliding down mucky creek banks to fill a dozen sampling bottles with water. I moved to Birmingham in the 6th grade and Johnny was in my class, and I went through Berry with him. His sense of humor and kindness always stood out. My prayers for the family as they morn his loss. I pray happy memories will be a comfort.
