Not sure what to say?

For those who never got to know John sure missed out, there are some many things to know about my pap. The memories that i have of you will always make me smile. I think everyone will remember you with your blue pants and a shirt rolled up over your belly and a chew in your mouth. I also remember all the wood making you did, he was always proud of those and they where fun to look at. One thing that sticks in my head is the time he backed the bulldozer into his own truck and he said that...

To my niece and nephews and their families. Your Dad has been in my family for many years and he was dearly loved and will be greatly missed as your Mom was dearly loved and is greatly missed. I’m not sure how much formal education John had but he was a teacher to all that knew him and took him for what he was. There are a few men in my time that influenced me in my progression to becoming an adult. John Mitten was one of my mentors in life. I stopped by to visit him for fellowship and to gain knowledge from John’s experiences. My Father, J. Emery Stokes,...

Dear Friends and Family: I am so sorry to hear about your lose. I did not know John long but when i met him he made me feel like I knew him a long time. He was so kind hearted and my daughter fell in love with him when she met him. I heard wonderful stories about all the kind things he had done. He will be truly missed. Again sorry for your loss.

Thank you for everything you have done for the scouts and scouters of Hidden Valley. You will be greatly missed. God bless.

I remember as a child going to Uncle John's house and how he loved to do wood work. Stevie and pappy may your heart be filled with peace knowing that there is no more suffering. Love you, Jessica
