Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Moellenhoff, John Edward, baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Tuesday, July 11, 2023.

Loving husband for 14 years of Cara Moellenhoff (nee Walters); beloved father of Samantha Moellenhoff, John Edward "Jack" Moellenhoff, Juli Moellenhoff and Stella Moellenhoff; brother of Victoria (Lynn) Glatt; uncle of Hadden (Holly) Glatt and Olivia (Trevor) Schlueter; great uncle of Blake, Jackson and Brady; son-in-law of Ed and Christine Walters; brother-in-law of Brad Walters; nephew of Donald (Constance) Moellenhoff; John was preceded in death by his parents John Moellenhoff and Carol Moellenhoff; loving cousin and friend to many.

John graduated from Parkway West High School and was an alumni of Southeast Missouri State University. He was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity where he made lifelong friends. John enjoyed fishing and hunting particularly if it involved his daughters, niece and nephews. His colorful accounts of his outdoor escapades were legendary.

John was a voracious reader often finishing several books a week. John was a lifelong fan of The Rolling Stones, perhaps their biggest fan. John loved his wife and his children. His passing leaves his family and friends heartbroken. We are forever grateful for having him in our lives and will treasure him forever.

Not sure what to say?

Truly heartbroken. Gone far too soon. Thoughts and prayers to Cara, Stella, Juli, Sami, and Jack. Rest in peace brother and I'll see you again on the other side...

Cara, I was very sad when Tara told me that John had passed away. Remembering the times at Chestnut when John would come into work around 5a, and would stand in the window and startled both Tara and I! My heart grieves with you, I know you love John very much. GOD will see you through this!
LOVE, Sharon ♥

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Moellenhoff's and Walter's families. Sounds like John was a great man here on earth and had much to offer those who knew him, father, husband, friend and family. He leaves behind a big whole that only God can fill. Hugs again, David and Christine

Cara, we are so very sorry for your loss. We continue to pray for the Father to comfort you and your children in the days ahead and fill those places in your hearts with His love. With love and hugs, David and Christine Ciummo

Cara, you're in my thoughts and prayers. I'm so sorry.

John had brought so much laughter and joy to my life growing up being his friend in High School. My memories of him driving his three in the tree pickup truck will forever be etched in my memory bank. I feel so blessed to have been his friend and will forever miss his contagious laugh. I love and miss ya Buddy!

Cara and the kids continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Heaven gained an awesome Angel and I am sure he has the other Angels rolling in laughter with his great...

Brother John, way too early for you to leave us. Scott and I were fans. I got to work with you in professional settings. You were a great human, now, you’re gonna be a great Angel. You’ll be missed.

I would like to give my greatest sympathy to the Walters family and the Moellenhoff families for the loss of your loved one. John was a great father and husband and I had the pleasure meeting John many years ago and I can see that he was a wonderful family man. Prayers for you all to continue to heal from this terrible loss.

Cara, Juli and Stella and families and friends. We are so very sorry to hear of John and send our sincere condolences to you all. Hold tight to the memories made.
