John D. Moenk

I will always treasure the fun I had with Jack as a kid growing up on 88th St. in Garfield Heights.

I remember fondly how one time he organized us kids ("the Nuts of 88th", he called us) into a trip to the Forum Cafeteria in downtown Cleveland on the bus. That made me feel so grown up .

As an adult I remember talking with him about our work in education,
a subject to which I'm sure he brought passion and love.

A really good guy.

Mr. and Mrs. Moenk would let me watch their children... which as any parent knows, is a privilege we receive when a parent trusts somebody with their babies. Like the rest of his family, he was always very kind to me and gave me respect, which was huge as a teenager to get from an adult. I am so sorry for the family's loss. Take a small amount of comfort from knowing that he touched the world with his goodness.

He was probably my best friend a long time ago.
