John was my grandpa he was the greatest man I've ever meet he was kind, funny, and very humble. After his first stroke he couldn't really communicate verbally. One time when I went over to his house after the stroke and I decided to make him a custom hat so I was little at the time and out he green golfing hat and a roll of mickey mouse duck tape on his head. 'Moff' lived next door to me while we attended The Basic School (TBS) at Quantico, Virginia, from mid 1966 until early 1967. He roomed with Rich Muller, a USNA '66 classmate of mine. I roomed with Rich McConnell from Princeton. In between there was a bathroom. He was a terrific quasi-roommate (saying bathroom-mate sounds wierd). John was always happy; impish twinkle in his eye; ready for anything, especially if there was fun involved. I was deeply saddened to learn that he passed away a...

Thank you so much for opening your home to me as a child. I will forever be grateful.

Thank you Mr.Ward for your services to our country and my God bless your family to carry on. My Dad was a Marine and I say Semper Fi may we never forget those to fought and sacrifice for our country!
