Not sure what to say?

Just before John left Cargill, he showed me 2 interesting things: 1. an ORIGINAL phone list for Cargill Lake Office (incl. Dwayne Andreas FWIW) and 2. newspaper clipping from local paper with story of 8 - 6 basketball victory over rival high school with photo of John, wherein he scored six points on 2-3 from the field and 2-2 free throws. as I handed it back he exclaimed / explained "They couldn't stop me!" RIP, a great gentleman.

Margo, Jeff, and Families,
Just wanted to express my sympathy at your dad's passing. I enjoyed working for him at MBM Commodities and know that he was part of the reason I got the job. I certainly learned a lot about a world I never knew existed! I really missed him when they discontinued the business--he sure kept the traders on their toes but I also know they valued his advice. It would have been interesting seeing him work when he was with Cargill. The last time I saw him he had...

When I was employed by Cargill in 1956 I was assigned to work with John. He was my initial mentor and friend. After retirement our physical paths didn't often cross. I don't believe there were many weeks that my good memories of John, his lessons and goodwill were not present in my thoughts.

God Bless him till we meet again.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and his dear friend Shirley Wilson.

Thanks for the good memories

I will miss my Uncle John and his summer trips to Duluth. Please accept my sympathy to the family.

A true friend to my father and the very definition of the word gentleman. I'll miss the dimes and the twinkle in his eye. My condolences (however inadequate) to the family.
