John R. Mondschein III

John R. Mondschein, III, 27, of Pen Argyl and Emmaus, passed away Monday, August 8, 2016, unexpectantly of a heroin overdose after being sober for two years. Born in Allentown, July 28, 1989, he was the son of John R. Mondschein, II, and his wife Apple of Mt. Bethel and Pamela S. (Davey) Jones and her husband Brian of Pen Argyl. John was employed as a supervisor at the Malvern Institute. He was a 2007 graduate of Pen Argyl High School and attended Penn Tech in Williamsport and Northampton Community College. He attended Journey Church, Limerick Campus. He was a member of AA and NA, and regularly was a speaker at AA and NA meetings and seminars. In addition to his parents and step parents, he is survived by a brother, Patrick Mondschein of Buffalo, NY, a sister, Sienna Mondschein of Pen Argyl, step sisters, Kasie Jones of Pen Argyl,, and Coscia and Conchesa, step brothers, Joshua and Micah Jones all of Pen Argyl, two aunts, Dona Fox of Sacramento, CA, and Dee Mondschein of New York and cousins. Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held, Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at 2 PM at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, www.ruggierofuneralhome.com, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl. There will be a visitation, Monday beginning at 6 PM until 8 PM and Tuesday beginning at 1 PM until time of services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Wind Gap Cemetery, Plainfield Township.
