John Francis Morrill CHARLESTON - John Francis Morrill, 71, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 9, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. John was born on January 31, 1953, in Charleston and was a proud resident of James Island. He was a 1972 graduate of Bishop England High School and attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic School for his elementary and middle education. John served our country in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Grand Forks, North Dakota. After his honorable discharge from the military, he became the original owner and operator of Morrill Liquors. John loved NASCAR, football and weekend getaways with friends for a few rounds of golf, cocktails and shagging to beach music. He is survived by his sisters, Patricia M. Williams and Jeanne M. Thomas (Kip); a brother, Tim B. Morrill (Angel) and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be private. Memorial Contributions may be made to Pet Helpers, 1447 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412. Arrangements by James A. McAlister, Inc. (843) 766-1365.
