Not sure what to say?

My sincere condolences to Lori and the family. I will be forever grateful to John as he was instrumental in hiring me in 1978 to work in the Criminal Division of the San Antonio USAO until my retirement in 1995. John was a very dedicated, professional who was highly respected by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Deepest condolences to Lori and all of John´s family. Like so many others, John changed my life and I am fortunate that God made our paths to cross. He was a force and I loved him!!

John had a remarkable career in public service and I am fortunate to have known him through our work the U.S. Attorney's Office. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. My sincere condolences to his family.

RIP my friend.

Van Hilley and I used to play golf with John all of the time. He was a really great guy. Got to see him not long ago and I'm really glad I did. Hope he and Van will save a place for me in their tee time. Rest in peace, old friend.

John was such a nice guy. I knew him when I worked at the Federal Public Defender´s office with Lucian Campbell. Our whole office really admired and respected John. This is such sad news. My condolences to his beloved family.

To all of you ... Lori, Casey & Matt, Marla and hubbie and your kids and Ruthann's kids ... and the many, many friends of John Murphy ... my heart is broken too. John's family along with mine, the Marullo's, moved to San Antonio from Rome, NY in 1965, met up through our parents and became great friends, especially John and my brother Larry who passed in 2006 in KC, MO. John was there with Larry, had to leave, but came back again exactly when Larry (and the rest of us) needed him most. ...

Lori and Casey - I am heartbroken and so sorry. John was a kind and generous mentor to me, gracious and warm friend, and just a truly amazing and wonderful person in so many ways. When I arrived in SA to work in the USA Office he welcomed me in and I soon began tagging along on the guys' breakfast taco and lunch rotation where we critiqued many tacos (and iced tea!) and shared lots of laughs during those outings. I have so many fond memories of the time I spent with him in and out of the...

It is with deep sadness that we bid farewell to such a wonderful friend. His level of wit was only surpassed by his level of sarcasm - his fierce loyalty to his friends was uncompromising. Nan Hamilton and I send our love and deepest sympathy to Lori and Casey and wish them a steady road ahead since John was called up for an important meeting with the Boss. Marc and Nan Hamilton
