Dr. John W. Myers, 98, of Rocky Hill, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2018. Born in Montclair, NJ on May 17, 1919, to the late Edward and Jessica Myers, John grew up in Montclair before joining the Army Medical Corps in WWII. He served in Africa for 3 years where he met his future wife Ann, a nurse in the Medical corps. After receiving his Doctorate in 1953, John set up a very successful practice in Montclair at a time when house calls were still made and he cared for his patients in the hospital. He was team doctor for the football team at Immaculate High School and became well known for his lectures on sexuality and marriage in North Jersey. After retiring, John loved being a grandfather to Patrick and Colleen. Known as 'Bill' to them, he provided years of special memories never to be forgotten. He leaves behind three daughters, Trish Egan (Peter) of Rocky Hill, Elizabeth Myers of Rocky Hill, Jeannie Durkin (Denis) of Orlando, FL, two grandchildren, Patrick Egan (Angela) of Wethersfield, Colleen Egan of Miami Beach, FL and two great grandchildren Jaxon and Ava Egan. John was predeceased by his seven siblings Edward, Tom, Mary, Jim, Peggy, Betty and Charlie. Donations may be made to Hartford Healthcare At Home.
