John Nace passed away on February 12, 2020 at age 67. He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Rosemary and was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High School, and received his doctorate and taught in the English Department at the Community College of Philadelphia. Relatives, friends, former colleagues, students and co-workers are invited to gather in St. Bartholomew's Church on Thursday February 20th after 9:30 AM. John's Funeral Mass will begin at 10 AM followed by his interment in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory to St. Bartholomew's Church 5600 Jackson Street, Phila., PA 19124 would be appreciated. I remember when I was a kid my sister and I would pull out the dictionary and find the most craziest words and asked him what does it mean . He always knew. He's my cousin. My father said he was very smart that's why we done that. God Bless You. You will be missed.

My sincere condolences to the Nace Family. I knew that Dr Nace retired, but didn't hear of his passing till later. I remember Dr Nace as a humble and gentle man.He taught English at CCP for many years, and was a very dedicated and caring professor. Johnny was a very special friend for over 30 years. Whether at work, or socially, he was always there with his wonderful sense of humor and insight on the world around us.
