John W. Neidermeyer

Although I left Lorton many years ago, I have many memories of growing up next door to Mr. and Mrs. Neidermeyer. They were the nicest people, offering much care and support to my family after I was severely injured in a car accident as a teenager. I was fortunate to get to see and speak with Mr. Neidermeyer the last time I was at my childhood home before my parents moved. To this day, when I smell a cigar, or see a "Dallas Sucks" pin, I think of my years growing up with Mr. Neidermeyer next door. He was always so generous and helpful when I worked on my 1964 corvair in the front yard-me, 16 and knowing nothing. He would always have the right tool for everything, and would never hesitate to go digging through his collection, and then just say, "Keep it- you might need it again." He was a good man and will be missed, but I'm sure he is in a happier place.

John and Mitch were our neighbors in Lorton for many years and were always there for any of us in the neighborhood. John was an extremely kind and caring person. He will certainly be missed by many.

We lived next door to John & Mich for over 37 years before we moved to the Outer Banks, NC in 2007. We loved them both dearly -- and treasure the years we shared with them. John is at peace now, with the love of his life. Our love and sympathy go to Amy & her family. We consider ourselves truly blessed to have known John & Mich and it is such a loss and sad day for both of us.
