Not sure what to say?

Dear Sandy and Family,

I am so sorry to hear of Father Neilson's passing. He was such a wonderful community participant and servant, studying
Italian with Josephine Macchia and playing such an important role as a member of The Community School Advisory
Board in Scotch Plains-Fanwood for many years. He is sorely missed in the community, I'm sure.

Sandy, you have spent years providing grief counseling to others. Now it is time to counsel and be kind to...

Group of 10 Trees

I was fortunate to have grown up with the Neilson’s as neighbors on Church Street, but more importantly friends and always welcoming to us little kids running in and out of the house. I remember when Fr. Neilson assisted with my Mom’s funeral when I was a child, provided the Blessing before our meal at my wedding, and offered comforting words as he spoke at my Dad’s funeral. This entire family will always be Gold to me and Fr. Neilson Scotch Plains Royalty.

I’m so thankful for having known Father Neilson, and having been a member of his congregation and truly sorry to learn of his passing. Father Neilson was a kind man and a wonderful spiritual leader. I have such warm memories of that period of my life. He may have seemed reserved, but he had a good sense of humor. When I was in high school, I taught Sunday school along with Carin Aurich. We’d get there just in the nick of time on Sunday morning and Father Neilson would greet us saying “I’m so...

John - You were a good man and a good friend, Rest in peace my brother - God bless you and your family, Peace .

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

Dear Sandy, Tim, and Family,

We were so sorry to hear of Fr. John’s passing.
He was a major part of our children’s spiritual upbringing in the 1970’s. Along with being a gentle, caring priest, he was truly a family man, and it reflected in Sandy and Tim.
Even after long gaps of contact, it was always as though one just “continued the conversation” where we left off.
When it’s not possible to find the right words, please take some comfort in knowing that we share...

Our world will miss this kind, gentle, faithful man who shepard'd with wisdom and integrity. Memories of him as he guided us will sustain and comfort us who mourn his passing. The Suter family is thankful for his many years of friendship, encouragement and his steadfast love of God and his neighbors.

A true friend and wonderful priest. I will miss his gentle kindness. He was an excellent role model.
