John Nethercott

It was with profound sadness that we read of John´s passing. John was such a fine man. We couldn´t have asked for better neighbours when we lived across the street from one another on Woodhall Drive in the 1980´s. We enjoyed some lovely times together and will always hold those memories dear. To this day, our kids, Maegan and Patrick, (now in their mid-40´s) say the Nethercott boys were their best babysitters. John was a very gentle man he was a Sub Lt in Nootka in 1962 I was an Ordinary Seaman we all had great respect towards him

I was greatly saddened to learn Capt(N) Nethercott passed away. I had the good fortune of working for him as his Executive Assistant when he was the Base Commander in Halifax. Alongside Bill Panteluk, he had a tremendously positive impact in mentoring young naval officers; indeed, he embodied the best qualities we all aspired to. I hope your found memories of him will bring you comfort during this difficult time.
