Not sure what to say?

As a young boy Doug was someone I looked up to. I played a lot of summer baseball with Doug and being one of the youngest players Doug always had my back. My dad was our coach and my dad and Doug had a close relationship in those early years. He will always live in our memories. Jack Bennett

Oh God how I miss this brother of mine. I just can't believe it has been 13 long years. I know if he were here, life would be so much better. He never hesitated to let you know exactly where you stood with him and life. I really do miss him so much.

My dear Neil, Erin and Carrie--It has been a long two weeks now and I know how heavy your hearts must be, as mine is too. I just want to tell you how much your Dad loved you three and that you know you meant the world to him. He was such a softy under all of that wit but there is nothing to compare to the love he had for you. He was so proud of anything that you accomplished for yourselves and wanted so much to be here to share it all with you. So, please remember that your guardian angel...

Brent, Brenda, Leslie & Family;
I just wanted to let you know I thought the service today was so nice. The Phoenix Fire Department did such a wonderful job in paying tribute to Doug and his career. I will never forget him and will always cherish the good times I shared with him as his sister in-law. May his soul rest in peace. May God bless his children. Much love,

To the Newcomb Family , My heart and prayers goes out to you all.I got to work with Doug for a lot years at Station #9.As a Firefighter and EMT I can say that we had alot of good times.Hope that when ever you think of him as we all will, remember the good time,I will be thinking of you my Brother Firefighter and Marine...

I have known Doug over 35 years and his passing leaves a hole in my heart. He lit up a room with his quick wit and ready laughter. He could always be counted on to help others; sometimes to his own detriment. He had the best selection of music of anybody I ever knew. He was proud to be a fireman. He loved his wife and children. Leslie, I am so glad we are friends and please know I am thinking of you and the kids during this terrible time. Doug will be missed by everyone who knew him.

My deepest sorrows to the Newcomb family. Leslie, I had never had the chance to meet you, but knew you through Connie Cole and Doug. He has always been close to my heart. I first met Doug when I was 16 on a double date with George Durkin. They were a blast. Doug was the life of the party and always had everyone laughing. Taught me even how to water ski. He was an important person in my life for a number of years. He will always be remembered....God Bless you and your children.
