Not sure what to say?

Dear Pat, Susan, and Carolyn,
I was a camper in the early 60's. John was the head of the Lowers. He also went to camp with my two uncles in the 40's. I visited camp a few years ago and, as I read in someone elses story in the news letter, was recognized by him from a distance, even after many years. I liken him to Jimmy Stewart in "It's a Wonderful Life. " He truly touched the lives of everyone that he met.
God bless you,
Frank Rose

I am sorry to learn of the passing of John Nute. John was an important and prominent person in my childhood when I was a camper at Camp Tohkomeupog during the early 1970's. John taught me to swim competitively, to sail and to waterski. I remember his kind voice and his always positive words. I wish I could have met him again before he passed - I had no idea he lived a town away from me - I live in Simsbury CT. My condolences go to his family. John Nute was a wonderful man.

Dear Pat, Susan, and Carolyn,

I just now learned that John passed on this past fall. I am so sorry for you, as of any person I've known, John was a gentleman. In my nine summers at Tohkomeupog, not only was he a gentleman, but he expected all of us - the boys, the staff - to conduct ourselves as gentlemen as well. My deepest sympathies to you and your families.

John Colwell, Oak Hill/Herndon, VA

Mr. Nute was a consummate gentleman.
God bless~

Dear Pat, Susie, and Carolyn,
We are so saddened to learn of John's passing and our heartfelt sympathies go out to you and your families. As campers at Tohkomeupog & Wampineauk, our family had the pleasure of knowing John throughout the years. More recently we would run into John while vacationing with our families at Purity Spring/King Pine. John was always so kind, personable, welcoming, and entheusiastic. He was simply a joy to know.
Most Fondly,
Lisa Widmann...

Having gone to Camp Tohkomeupog for 9 years in the 1970's there is no way John Nute could not have a profound effect on my life. He would referee our soccer games, he taught us to swim, he taught us how to play tennis, and most of all he taught us how to be men! Every year my family goes back to the area and we always stop in and say hi, and John is always genuinely happy to see us. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Dear Pat, Susan & Carolyn (& families)
What a wonderful wonderful man John was. I feel like the lights have gone out. A solid rock of sound advice and love, whose caring and encouragement has been an inspiration to thousands. Our love and thoughts are with you all. Big hugs Susie Gregson(Gillard), London England

"I was so sorry to hear of the passing of my dear friend. John and I spent many years together officiating soccer and Lacrosse in Conn. He was a great guy. Bill Fortin
