Dear Uncle John,
On the soon-to-be anniversary of your passing, I am thinking about the time we shared together. I remember living with you and Auntie Ellie before I moved to New York in 2004. Ellie and Family,
John was a dear friend, my neighbor and fishing buddy.
He was a true gentleman, scholar and conservationist.

Thanks John for sharing your stories with me.
You talked about your dog Targhee and I would
talk about mine also named Targhee.

What great memories, especially the trips to Papakea in
'88, '90, '91 and '94. I can't say enough great things about
John, he was like a father to me, expecially after my dad
passed away in '88. I cherished his wisdom and advice
and loved his stories. He will aways be a part of me and
I will always remember him.

We will all miss you very much. I will always remember
how encouraging and supportive you were of me. Each
time we talked, I knew you were proud of me. I am
pursuing a doctoral degree now inspired by your
commitment to learning.
Love,
Jenn
