My parents, Harold and Lucy Gray, were John's neighbors at the Regency House in Decatur. We joyfully remember his strolls in the halls, his cheery greetings, and his great spoken encouragement to both of us. Your father never failed to have a smile on his face and a cheerful spirit in his heart. Only once did we see him without that joyful countenance and that was when he was concerned for his California family as fires raged. John was faithful to inquire about my parents as their health...
