John Thomas Orndorff, III, age 66, a longtime resident of Boothwyn, passed away on November 18, 2020. He was the husband of Yoke "Jenny" Orndorff and father to Jo-Wei.
Born to the late John and Loretta Orndorff, John spent his childhood years in Media, PA where he attended Nativity BVM school. He graduated with Penncrest High School's Class of 1972 and obtained his AA from DCCC in 1974. John worked as a draftsmen for Sun Ship & Drydock for a decade and returned to school to obtain his BS from Widener in 1990. He enjoyed a long career as a Program Manager with the Naval Surface Warfare Center.
A proud Republican, John volunteered his time with various political rallies. With a passion for antique cars and oldies music, John could often be found at one of his car clubs or behind the DJ booth. He enjoyed international travel but also appreciated his roots. John volunteered with the reunion committees for Nativity School and Penncrest High School. He was also very involved with his church functions.
In addition to Jenny and Jo-Wei, John is survived by his brother, Tom (Beth) of Wilmington, and nieces and nephews Thomas, Sydney and Jackson. He was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Stoccardo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Ogden in Boothwyn, PA, 2446 Mill Rd, Upper Chichester Township, PA 19061.
John's memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 23rd at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Rd., Glen Mills, PA 19342. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 am. Mass will begin at 10:30 am. Private burial: Calvary Cemetery in Media, PA.

John and I met in 1975 when Kay Kendall 's single group had a trip to Colorado and Wyoming John was quiet but kept in touch all those many years from 1975 to present. While on trip we all had "bear nicknames" John's was Gentle Ben'
