Not sure what to say?

I considered John a friend as well as a frat brother at Luther so many years ago. After he could no longer play football competitively we played intramural football together. Three of us that formed the defensive line would always have a contest for the most sacks. Always enjoyed his company and quiet smile.

Jill,
Debbie and I just learned of John's passing tonight. We are so sorry. John was the epitome of a true Christian and was a great example to us all. I will never forget the healing hands and prayers our small group did with John at BSF. God was with us all that night. I always enjoyed sharing fishing stories with John. (Any story worth telling is worth embellishing.) And Debbie and I enjoyed our times together with you and John. Jill, if there's anything we can do for you or your...

My prayers and condolences are offered for the Osborn family. I was blessed to have John as a group leader at BSF a few years ago. I will always remember his support , kindness, and Christian example. He was always positive in his journey through his illness.
May he rest in peace in God's hands.

The first time I personally spoke with John was last year and he had to rush off because he was going off to lead a Bible study at the Salvation Army. Even in the midst of illness, he was pouring his life out in service to the King. Jill and family, may the Lord comfort you as you grieve -- and may his legacy of faithfulness to the Lord live on through you.

John was my pledge son in the Pi Sig fraturnity at Luther College. We lost touch after Luther, but several mutual friends kept me posted on his valliant fight with prostate cancer. I have read his very impressive life story from the funeral and was touched. He was a wonderful man that set an example for all of us. He will be missed for now but I look forward to seeing him in heaven. With deepest sympathy.

I met John on my first day at Cargill many years ago. He made a point of welcoming me to the company just because I was a fellow Luther graduate. Later, John was my manager in Cobham. He was a great manager - smart, positive, and supportive. He was also just a really great guy, who always seemed so happy. I am so very sad to hear this news, and my thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.

John was my manager at Cargill many years ago and when I was going through a tough divorce he let me use your lovely cabin one weekend for some peace and quiet. When I knew John he didn't know Christ and neither did I. I so wish I'd gotten the chance to tell him that I know Christ now too! I will tell him in Heaven. What a lovely memorial service today to hear what a wonderful man John was and how loved he was. Its so good to know he's with his Jesus. Peace and blessings to John's beautiful...

Dear Jill, Brandon and Matt,
We have so many fond memories of John. Lee's go way back to their days at Luther and ours as a couple are from when we were both newly married and living in Chicago. But my favorite memory of John is when he would come to the women's BSF leaders meetings because he couldn't attend the men's. There he was, the sole man in a group of 60 women, hoping not to get called on! We would always sit together. What a kind, humble, God-fearing man. He lived his...

I worked with John at Cargill in Cobham and he was a great leader and mentor to me. He taught me so much about my work professionally - really instrumental to where I am today. My thoughts are with his family at this time.
