Not sure what to say?

Condolences to the Osborn family. May our Grand Creator grant you comfort and support to cope with your loss.

I took professor Osborne's contracts, and wills and trusts classes at USF law school. He was an incredible professor. His anecdotes about life and his work were so memorable. He did a good job in instilling in us the ethics of law and making compassionate choices in wills and trusts and other areas.

John was classmate of my husband at Harvard. I got to meet him and his wife at a class reunion. I am so sorry at his passing as he was kind and funny. It was amazing to meet the author of Paper Chase

May you find comfort from God who comforts us in our grief.

John was one of my dad's best friends (Bill Anderson) growing up together in Belvedere. They were born a day apart in 1945. We lived very close to the Osborns in the Cascades of Fairfax in the late 1970's. I remember our families having parties, vacations at Sea Ranch, sailing on the bay abroad John's boat the Anna Maria, and having a blast together. After my mother (Liz) passed away in 1990, John was devastated from her death. He attended our family reunion in 2007 and specifically told the...

I sat in the front row in Contracts in 2007. I will never forget he started one class this way. “When I woke up this morning, the sun was shining. The birds were singing. It really is a beautiful day and there is no where else I’d rather be than here with you, teaching contracts. And today, we’re really in for a treat because we are going to discuss the famous case of the carbolic smoke bomb.”
He was a wonderful man. I learned quite a bit about contracts but more about kindness and...

John was my oldest brother, He could make all his six siblings laugh so hard; especially at family dinners. I love him and miss him every day. He raised three fantastic children and I see John in all their faces. Thank you John for all the memories I cherish.

R.I.P John

Prof. Osborn was one of the best teachers in my life. Through his course law and literature, he changed the way I viewed the world by emphasizing how conflict arises when traditionalism crosses with transactionalism. He inspired me and others to appreciate literature as a prism to understand conflict and the narrative that cuts through every legal case. His teachings and authorship endure through his books and his students. He was loved by so many.
