We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of John. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loving family.

Those that knew John benefited from his wisdom, insights and vast knowledge of so many things but most of all, we appreciated his true and considerate friendship.

enjoying life

As a young child of a single mother in DC in the '50s, John & Dorrie were like my aunt and uncle. My mom worked for Herblock at the POST and I have fond memories of being at their small apt. over the DOOR STORE on M street. They were both gentle and caring people who made me feel valued. We moved from DC in '65, but in the past few years I was able to visit with John occasionally and valued his upfront, no nonsense take on life. I will miss him.

In my faith we would call him a Mensch. Paul Furman Florida
