Not sure what to say?

We have been out of the area for six months; upon returning and not seeing John about, neighbors informed us of John's passing early in 2017. John was known only to us a "down the street" neighbor for several years. Then, he and Kelley and the children moved nearby and we became better acquainted. He was a kind and considerate friend with very occasional amusing moments of irascibility about some trivial issue, which he could soon laugh about. Clearly, a very bright and caring neighbor has...

I was fortunate to have known John as a Wooster trustee. His quiet wisdom and his longstanding support for the College and its students made Wooster and our Board better. My heartfelt condolences to Kelly, John and Cindy.

John was a devoted alumni and a brilliant Doctor. John's legacy will live on through his generous scholarships. I am honored to have known John, he was always cheerful kind and optimistic. My deepest sympathy.

I am deeply saddened at the news of John's death. He '60 and I -59 were on the Scots Football team. We had a good friendship. I called the house one day after John's surgery and he answered the phone. Surprised I said, "
wht are you doing home?" He said, "I couldn't get any rest in the hospital." I responded, "Now you know what your patients went through." We had a good laugh, an ended the conversation with warm salutations. I last sw John at the dedication of the Lu David memorial...

Sincerest condolences from the Department of Chemistry at the College of Wooster. Dr. Papp was one of the great success stories of the College. We are sorry for your loss and hope that you can ultimately find peace.

I am proud to have played in Papp Stadium at Wooster, but much prouder to have known John as a Wooster Trustee and as an example for all Fighting Scots to look up to. Thank you, John. GO Scots!

I was deeply saddened to learn of the death of John Papp. We overlapped as trustees for many decades, and I always looked forward to seeing him, greeting him and often his wife, and exchanging pleasantries with him. We did not serve on any of the same committees but had Wooster in common. We conversed on many occasions about family, the college experience, sports, the stadium, which was named for him, and even politics. I will miss him. Bob Tignor

Dear Papp Family,

I was sorry to hear of the passing of Johnny as I knew him by that name. Johnny was my father's, George Sabo, cousin. As a youngster I knew his mother, Aunt Mary to me, and his father briefly before passing. And there was always activity around the Romanian Baptist Church. I recall Johnny coming to our home in Pittsburgh during his interview process at Pitt Med School, prior to his selection of Ohio State. Johnny and Maryann also visited us in California on one of...

My condolences to the Papp family. What a fine gentlemen and excellent clinician. I was fortunate to know him and my patients from Greenville were fortunate to receive the very best care.
